What does a typical session look like?
I believe my most important role in our sessions is to connect with you and be fully present. Beyond that, each session may look very different. I tailor sessions to what you want, need, and are comfortable with at the time. I will help you explore with curiosity at a pacing that works for you.
With this mindful approach,
we make space for new and surprising outcomes rather than just the same old results.
Our work together may include skill building (such as improving emotional regulation, reducing reactivity or outbursts, ways to help you with decision making and getting "unstuck"). Perhaps I'll help you access your deepest sense of yourself and what you need most. We may work with your core emotions and help you heal and transform unhelpful habits and deeply entrenched patterns.
If it feels appropriate for you, we may also practice specific yogic breath techniques, meditations and mindfulness exercises, and/or body movements to help you feel more relaxed and centered; or to help you release old painful experiences or move beyond feeling stuck.

What types of payments do you take?
Checks, debit, and credit cards are your options for payment. Because of fees involved in their use, credit and debit cards are limited to full fee clients.
Do you offer sliding scale fees?
I have a limited number of reduced fee slots for those who in need. Ask me about current availability of these reduced fee sessions.
I also participate in the SIMS Foundation program which provides counseling to folks in Austin's music related fields and their families.
Do you take insurance?
I do not take insurance. I can provide you with detailed receipts so you can file for out-of-network reimbursement. Check with your insurance company for details.
